A spinoff is the result of activities that are not part of parent company’s core business, but are too valuable to lose. That typically generates a new dynamic with positive effects for parent company, spinoff and the region. A spinoff can go its own way in a separate company or mature within the parent company. An in-house spinoff is accommodated in a new business unit. Spinoff creation is a great way of stimulating economic growth in a region.

Coaching is designed for manufacturing and service companies that wish to take optimal advantage of their spinoff opportunities.
A large number of companies – from SMEs to multinationals – fail to exploit opportunities optimally. Spinoff opportunities are generated more often than many people think. Flemish businesses and organisations looking to identify, investigate and exploit spinoff opportunities will benefit from professional guidance.

How it works
Together with experts, your company follows a tried-and-tested process that is constantly tweaked and refined.
The spinoff process is split into three stages: scouting, scanning and coaching.
- Scouting
The viability of a spinoff is investigated in an introductory meeting with one of our spinoff experts.
- Scanning
If your spinoff is clearly viable, the next step is commissioning an in-depth study. The relevant attributes of parent company, spinoff team and spinoff business are assessed in an in-depth scientific study using an scientific based methodology. This study possibly involves a number of company managers. The methodology was developed in association with the Brabant Development Authority (Netherlands) and MERIT – University of Maastricht.
- Coaching
If the results of the in-depth study are positive, the next step can be spinoff creation. One or more of our professional coaches pilots you through the process.
